　　Zhang Dong is my best friend. He is a boy. Both of us are good at English, so we often have a chat in English in our spare time. Besides,football is our favourite sport. We like watching football match. Zhang Dong works hard at his lessons. He often studies late into the night. No matter how tired he is, he insists on doing his homework. So he gets good marks in all his subjects. He loves popular songs and classical music, too.

　　There are three people in his family and he is the only child. His father is a doctor and his mother is a Beijing Opera actress. Though Zhang Dong's family is wealthy, he is usually simply dressed. He dreams of being a lawyer in the future.

　　Such is my friend, a clever and kind boy. I highly value the friendship with him.

　　張東是我最要好的朋友，他是個(gè)男孩。我們兩個(gè)人都擅長(zhǎng)英語(yǔ)，因此我們經(jīng)常在課余時(shí)間用英語(yǔ)聊天。此外，我們兩人都喜歡足球，愛看足球賽。張東學(xué)習(xí)很努力，他經(jīng)常學(xué)習(xí)到深夜。不管他多么累，他都堅(jiān)持完成他的功課，所以他各科功課都很好。他喜歡流行音樂，也喜歡古典音樂。

　　他家有三口人，他是獨(dú)生子。父親是個(gè)醫(yī)生，母親是個(gè)京劇演員。盡管張東家境比較富裕，但是他的穿著卻十分樸素。他夢(mèng)想將來(lái)當(dāng)個(gè)律師。

　　這就是我的朋友，一個(gè)聰明、友好的男孩。我珍視同他之間的友誼。

　　I have a good friend. He is a handsome boy and his eyes shine with wisdom.

　　I have known him since Senior One. We are both interested in English. Once both of us entered for an English contest. How eagerly I expected to get a prize! On hearing that I had failed in the contest, I could hardly hold back my tears. "What a pity!" I murmured to myself over and over again. I felt that the world had become cold and everyone seemed to be laughing at me.I love English and have gone all out to study it since my first day in the junior middle school. I have even dreamed of entering a foreign language institute. So I felt very sad.

　　Just at this time, I received a short letter in English, saying, "Failure is the mother of success. Cheer up! Don't lose confidence. Keep on your study and you will succeed!" I knew it was from the good friend of mine.These words encouraged me greatly. I forgot all my sadness. From then on, I studied English even harder. In the next English contest, I got the first prize. Of course, he was delighted with my success.

　　我有一個(gè)很好的朋友。他是一個(gè)英俊的男孩，有著智慧光芒的眼睛。

　　我從高一年級(jí)起就認(rèn)識(shí)他了。我們都對(duì)英語(yǔ)感興趣。我們?cè)�一起進(jìn)入了一個(gè)英語(yǔ)比賽。我特別期望自己能贏!一聽說我比賽失敗后，我?guī)缀醪荒茏柚刮业难蹨I。 “真可惜!”我喃喃地對(duì)自己一遍又一遍。我認(rèn)為，世界變得寒冷，每個(gè)人都似乎在笑我，我愛英語(yǔ)，并全力研究，自從我進(jìn)入初中第一天。我曾夢(mèng)想進(jìn)入一個(gè)外語(yǔ)學(xué)院。因此，我感到非常難過。

　　就在這個(gè)時(shí)候，我收到了簡(jiǎn)短的英文信，說：“失敗是成功之母。振作起來(lái)!不要失去信心。繼續(xù)你的學(xué)習(xí)，你就會(huì)成功!”我知道它來(lái)自我的好朋友。他的話讓我非常鼓舞。我忘了我所有的悲傷。從此，我更加努力學(xué)習(xí)英語(yǔ)。在接下來(lái)的英語(yǔ)競(jìng)賽，我獲得了第一名。當(dāng)然，他很高興我的成功。
