　　Panda is one of the scarcest animals. people in the world like it very much. there used to be many pandas in china long ago.

　　as the balance of nature was destroyed and the weather was getting warmer and warmer, pandas became less. but at present, the number of pandas is increasing year by year. there are now so many pandas that some are being sent to other countries so that people there can enjoy them.

　　nowadays, the biggest nature park for panda in china is in sichuan. there is a research centre for nature and wild life there. scientists hope that one day they will have enough pandas to be set free and let them live in the wild again.

　　Giant pandas are China's national treasure. They live in the southwest of China.

　　A panda has black and white fur. big eyes and round ears. They are a little fat but move quickly. They like climbing the trees and swimming in the rivers as well. So everybodythinks they're cute. And that's why people like them and make it a symbol of the 2008Olympic Games. Most of the pandas can live to 20-25 years. Bamboo is their favorite food.

Once it was in the situation of dying out, but with the effort of the scientists, now the number of giant panda has increased and the scientists protect these lovely creatures. Pan Wenshi, who is known to the father of giant panda, has devoted his whole life to study about how to protect the precious animals from dying out.

　　Since the 1980s, he has worked in the wild of Si Chuan, tracing the giant panda’s life and studying it, in the hope of collecting useful information. He was strongly supporting that animals should return to the nature, where was their right home. He has made great contribution to protecting the animals from dying out.

　　Now giant panda is no longer on the list of dying out. We are happy to hear the news and show great respect to the scientists.
