A man walking in the night slipped from a rock. Afraid that he would fall down thousands of feet, because he knew that place was a very deep valley, he took hold of a branch that was hanging over the rock. In the night all he couls see was a bottomless abyss. He shouted, his own shout reflected back--there was nobody to hear.
You can imagine that man and his whole night of scare. Every moment there was death, his hands were becoming cold, he was losing his grip...... and as the sun came out he looked down and he laughed. There was no abyss. Just six inches down there was a rock. He could have rested the whole night, slept well---the rock was big enough---but the whole night was a nightmare.
Fear is only six inches deep. Now it is up to you whether you want to go on cling to the branch and turn your life into a nightmare, or whether you would love to leave the branch and stand on your feet.
There is nothing to fear.
Here are two original fables exploring the theme of "six feet apart," blending physical distance with emotional connection:
Two hedgehogs, Hugo and Hedwig, huddled beneath frost-kissed leaves during a bitter winter. "Let us share warmth," Hugo proposed, but when they nestled close, their quills pierced each others paws. They retreated, shivering.
A wise owl observed, "Distance is not absence." The pair experimented: three feet apart left them cold, four feet still prickly. At six feet, their breath mingled like steam, quills harmless, yet warmth radiated. They danced in place—a waltz of separation and trust—until spring thawed their hearts and the snow.
Moral: Proximity without wisdom wounds; space without care isolates. True connection blooms where boundaries are respected.
A lonely star named Lumin burned so brightly no planet dared approach. "Why do they flee?" she wept to the moon. "Your fire consumes before it warms," replied the moon. "Let me weave you a cloak."
The moon spun a silver cloud around Lumin, dimming her glare to a gentle glow. Planets now orbited freely, six feet of stardust between their paths. The cloud became Lumin’s shadow—a reminder that even the brightest souls need soft edges to embrace others.
Moral: Light that blinds creates solitude; light that guides builds galaxies. Let compassion be your veil.
Both tales reflect how "six feet apart" symbolizes not just physical space, but emotional calibration—the art of holding others close enough to feel their light, yet distant enough to respect their flame.
