Topic 1 What things do you love collecting

Section A

1. Collecting stamps must be great fun.

收集郵票一定很有趣。

collecting stamps集郵,這里是動名詞短語作主語。

must后跟be動詞也同樣用動詞原形be.

表示對現(xiàn)在所發(fā)生的事情的肯定推測,“一定,肯定”

如:他不在教室里,他肯定在操場上。

He isn’t in the classroom, he must be on the playground.

他沒在臥室里,他一定在書房。

He isn’t in the bedroom, he must be in the study.

拓展:表示否定推測時,則用can’t,“不可能”。

如:他不在家,所以他不可能在家看電視。

He isn’t at home, so he can’t watch TV at home.

2. I used to listen to rock music.

我過去常常聽搖滾音樂。

(1)used to do sth. 表示過去經(jīng)常做某事。

I used to play basketball in the morning.

我過去經(jīng)常上午打籃球。

He used to sing at home.

他過去常常在家里唱歌。

(2)listen to music 聽音樂

listen to 既可加名詞也可加代詞,代詞必用賓格,因為to為介詞,表示聽……說/講。

如:請認真聽老師講。

Please listen to the teacher carefully.

別聽他講。

Don’t listen to him.

3. Would you like to collect any of these things?

你愿意收集這些事物中的任何一些嗎?

Would you like…?這是日常生活中有禮貌地、很客氣地、語氣又很委婉地征求對方意見的用語,意為“你愿意……嗎?”這個問句的肯定回答形式常用“Yes, please.”否定回答形式常用“No, thanks.”

(1)would like sth. 想要某物

I’d like this book. 我想要這本書。

(2)would like to do sth. 想要做某事

I’d like to collect these stamps.

我想要收集這些郵票。

(3)would like sb. to do sth. 想要某人干某事

He’d like me to buy some flowers for him.

他想要我給他買些花。

(would常和前面的主語縮寫成’d的形式,而且would沒有人稱和數(shù)的變化)

4. I am interested in playing sports.

我對做運動感興趣。

play sports = have sports = do sports

be interested in sth. 對某事感興趣(表示人對某事感興趣)

in為介詞,介詞后加動名詞,所以句中用了playing。

如:湯姆對打籃球感興趣。

Tom is interested in playing basketball.

Interesting, interested, interest

(1)interesting 形容詞,表示人或物自身是有趣的。

如:This story is very interesting. 這個故事很有趣。

He is an interesting teacher. 他是一名有趣的老師。

(2)interested 形容詞,表示某人對某事感興趣。

如:I’m interested in English. 我對英語感興趣。

(3)interest 名詞,興趣、愛好。

如:I read this book with great interest.

我?guī)е艽蟮呐d趣讀了這本書。

在你的業(yè)余時間你經(jīng)常做什么?

in one’s spare time 在……的業(yè)余時間

如:in my spare time 在我的業(yè)余時間

in their spare time 在他們的業(yè)余時間

2. And I do a lot of reading. 并且我讀了大量的書。

類似的有:

do some reading 看書

do some washing 洗衣服=wash(動)

do some shopping 購物=shop(動詞)

do some cooking 做飯菜=cook(動)

3. Why not go out and do some outdoor activities?

為什么不出去做一些戶外活動?

(1)outdoor activities 戶外活動

(2)go out 外出,出去

go out for… 為…而出去

如:I want to go out for a walk.

我想要出去散步。

go out to do sth. 出去做某事

如:Let’s go out to play basketball.

讓我們出去打籃球吧。

(3)Why not do…? = Why don’t you/we do…?

表示建議某人做某事,意思是為什么不做……?

如:Why not buy a sweater for your mother?

=Why don’t you buy a sweater for your mother?

為什么不給媽媽買一件毛衣呢?

Why not see a movie? = why don’t we see a movie?

為什么不去看電影?(you或we根據(jù)具體語境確定)

4. I wasn’t interested in sports at all.

我對運動根本不感興趣。

not…at all 根本不…,一點也不,用來加強語氣。

He doesn’t like basketball at all.

他根本不喜歡籃球。

They don’t study hard at all.

他們學習一點也不努力。

5. I never miss any important soccer games.

我從不錯過任何重要的足球賽。

(1)never 副詞,從不、永不、決不,其本身含有否定意思,如:

He’s never late for school. 他從不上學遲到。

表示頻率的副詞,按頻率高低依次為:

always(總是),usually(通常),often(經(jīng)常),sometimes(有時),seldom(幾乎不),never(從不),這些副詞往往放在be動詞后,行為動詞前,sometimes習慣在句首和句尾。

如:Li Lei always helps others.

李雷總是幫助別人。

I often go to school early.

我經(jīng)常很早去上學。

(2)miss 錯過

I got up late, so I missed the early bus.

我起床晚了,所以錯過早班車。

6. Can you share my interests?

你能分享我的愛好嗎?

share 分享

誰來分享我的愛好呢?

Who shares my interests?

7. Report the hobbies to your group.

向你的小組同學匯報你的愛好。

(1)hobbies為hobby的復數(shù)形式。

(2)report sth. to sb. 向某人匯報……

We must report the change in the plan to our boss.

我們必須向老板匯報這項計劃的變更部分。

report還可以做名詞,意為:報告,如the weather report 天氣預報

8. I’m fond of fishing. 我喜歡釣魚。

be fond of 愛好……,喜歡……

of為介詞,后加動詞ing。

如:I’m fond of animals. 我喜歡動物。

We are fond of swimming. 我們喜歡游泳。
