Lesson 73

Period: The First Period

Properties: Recorder, CAI

Teaching Aims:

1.To revise the ways of giving suggestions.

2.To make the students grasp the usage of “take” and “bring”.

3.To learn “far, farther, farthest.”

Language Focus: The difference between “take” and “bring”

Teaching Procedures:

Step1.Ask and answer between the teacher and the students.

T: What day is it today?

S: It’s Monday.

T: Yes. It’s Monday. It’s the weekday. We have to go to school on weekdays,

Don’t we?

S: Yes. We do.

T: How do you go to school on weekdays?

S: By bike…./on foot

T: What do you have to bring when you go to school?

S: I have to bring the schoolbag.

T: Anything else?

S: Books, pens……

T: Do you bring any money with you everyday?

S: Yes.

T: Why do you bring some money with you?

S: When I feel hungry I can buy something to eat….(different answers)

T: If it is a rainy day, what will you have to bring to school?

S:I have to bring a raincoat or an umbrella.

T: Don’t forget to take them home when school is over. ( 出示課件1)

T: What else do you have to take home when you go back home?

S: The school books…

T: Yes. You have to take them home because you have to do a lot of homework at

home . Do you feel tired on weekdays? Do you want to have a good rest at the

weekends?

T: Can you enjoy yourself at the weekends? What do you often do at the weekends?

S: Watch TV …..play games

T: Then what am I going to do this weekend? Can you guess?

(Let the students guess freely)

T: I’d like to tell you that I’m going to have a picnic. It’s very interesting. Are you coming with me?

S: Great.

T: Shall we bring some food for a picnic?

S: Good idea.

T: We’ll start early in the morning. We’ll meet at the school gate at six. Is that OK?

S: That’s fine.

T: Please be on time.

S: Don’t worry. bye.

T: See you.

Step2.Make dialogues.

T: Everyone wants to have a picnic this weekend. so ask your friends to have the picnic. Make the dialogue according to the model. (出示課件)

A: We are going to have a picnic at the weekend? Are you coming with us?

B: Great. I’d love to. Shall we bring food for it?

A: Good idea! We’ll start early in the morning. We’ll meet at the school gate at six. Is that OK?

A: It’s too early. Let’s make it a little later. What about half past six?

B: That’s fine.

A: Please, don’t be late.

B: Don’t worry. I’ll be there on time. See you!

A: See you!

Step3.Look and say

T: We all decide to have a picnic this weekend. But where shall we go?(出示課件) Look, there are several islands. Do you know “island” ?Look. this is an island. There are three islands here. They are all near us, do you know the names of these islands? The nearest one is Zhujiajian island. Which is the farther one? And the farthest one?(far farther farthest) Have you ever been there before? Please say something about each island.(出示課件3個不同的島嶼)

Step4.Talk.

T: They are beautiful, aren’t they? As we know, there are so many beautiful islands in our country. Have you found them yet? Please come here and show them on the blackboard?(讓學生出示課前準備的有關島嶼的資料并講解)

Step5.Discuss

T: Mount Putuo is the most famous one. You see there are so many temples and Buddhas on it. Can we take photos there?

S: Yes.

T: (顯示大佛像及No photos)But we’d better not take photos before the Buddhas. So far, we all know something about the islands. Then which island shall we choose for the picnic at the weekend? Discuss in groups and tell us the reason. You’d better use far/farther/farthest had better not…

Step6.Listen and answer

T: Most of us agree to visit Zhujiajian Island. Because it’s near and beautiful and it’s a good place for a picnic. I agree with you. Then we’ll go there on time at the weekend. But what about Bruce and Bill? Do you still remember them---our friends from Australia? Will they come with us? Do you know? Now please listen and answer.

(出示課文圖片及錄音)

Questions:1.Where will they go?

2.When will they start?

3.When and where will they meet?

(Go on listening.) But there are a few small islands. Which one do they choose? And why? (Students’ discussion)

Step7.Open the books and read by yourself, then act them out.

Step8.Homework 1.Make a dialogue about getting ready for a picnic.

2.Finish off workbook Lesson 73.
